How adequate are our current governance structures for the complexity of the world we now face?
This expert session will explore a deeper question: whether some of the problems we repeatedly encounter in politics and civic governance are being reproduced by the very systems designed to address them — and what different forms of governance might require from people, practices, worldviews and institutions.
Bringing together four complementary perspectives:
- Dr Paddy Pampallis — inner development, leadership maturity and human capacity
- Olivia Stamp — emerging civic practices, deliberative democracy and collective intelligence
- Dr Violeta Bulc — governance structures, institutional architecture and systemic transformation
- Dr Marina Demchenko — facilitator, bringing the perspective of worldviews, culture, relational intelligence and pluriversal approaches
Together, we will ask:
Are we trying to solve new problems through old governance architectures?
What needs to evolve together — people, practices, worldviews and institutions — for genuinely different forms of governance to emerge?
What can we already learn from emerging experiments, and what should we test next?
This conversation is not about proposing another ready-made model, but about opening a deeper inquiry into the conditions for wiser, more participatory and more relational forms of governance — capable of responsibly stewarding living social ecosystems and contributing to planetary health.
